Galloway Hills Rally - Sunday 3rd December 2000
This was the first event with the new more powerful car. There were a few teething troubles with the new car which hampered us slightly throughout the day. The clutch started slipping quite badly from stage 2 onwards which prevented the car from accelerating as well as it should. We had known about the clutch before we bought the car but it had been a bit of a rush to get things ready so we hadn't had time to get it replaced. There was also a bad earth on the window wipers which meant that they stopped working every now and again.
Apart from these minor problems the day went very well with a best result so far of 29th overall and third in class. We also won the James Flemming rosebowl for being the first all East Ayrshire Car Club crew home.
