Park Systems Rally - Saturday 13th September 2003

The final round of the Scottish Championship started from Newton Stewart and consisted of 4 stages.

The first stage was very slippy and the team started cautiously losing a bit of time and going second in class. Stage 2 was in Glentrool forest. The car went a bit quicker through there covering just over 14 miles in 14 minutes 55 seconds and setting the 23rd fastest time.

A service halt was next and at the halfway stage the team were still second in class but by only one tenth of a second. The car was undamaged and only needed a general check over before heading back out for the last two stages.

Stage 3 went well but the team lost another 1 and a half seconds to remain second with just the one stage to go. Stage 4 was the longest of the day at just over 16 miles. The conditions were quite slippy but the stage was very fast and smooth. Everything went well apart from a rear puncture a couple of miles from the end. The puncture didn't seem to make much difference and the team set an incredible 14th fastest overall. Our main rival had a slight off near the end of the stage which meant that we won the class quite comfortably.

The team had a great day, taking their 6th class win of the season and finishing 14th overall from a field of 73 starters.
